Drawing  for Mosaic

Large scale charcoal drawing is a really fun way to kick off a project, immediately engaging and encouraging group work.
First session with year 6 at Stamford Hill Primary school looking at patterns from around the world and working on large charcoal drawings in groups. The drawings enable the students to process the patterns and form the basis for the mosaic designs.

Clay and Plaster Casts

A session with clay is fun for any age group. They start with playing with the clay before rolling it ready to print with objects, making patterns that will be cast in hard, outdoor proof plaster.

Designing at Stepney Greencoats Primary

Using pen, water paint and paper collage to make wavy river patterns. They worked with the mosaic tiles on top of these designs.
